Curcuma aurantiaca (Rainbow Curcuma)
Increasingly rare species which will grow 2' to 3' high ( 60- 90 cm ) while requiring 30% to 50% of shade.
The large medium green leaves will suffer from sunburn if planted in full sun.
Large inflorescence 10" ( 25 cm ) high , 3" to 4" ( 9 - 12 cm ) in diameter if grown under optimal conditions.
Colors ranging from maroon over cream and white to pink while the actual small flowers are yellow.
Blooming season from July to October, with dormancy from November to May.
Due to lack of commercial cultivation this species has become rare and bulbs are available only occasionally.
