A rare species from Ecuador which will grow 8' to 15' ( 2.40m to 4.50 m )high in full sun to half shade.
Beautiful pendent inflorescence consisting of more than 30 bracts and often more than 3'
long. Bracts are red to burgundy-red with contrasting yellow sepals.
A very interesting aspect is the distinctive shape of the bracts which form a funnel shaped
opening with well developed curved lips.
Very long lasting when used as a cut flower.
Please note that the rhizomes of this species are large and heavy ( weight about 1 kg)
