Heliconia carmelae - Heliconiaceae

                Heliconia carmelae is a still rare Heliconia species with beautiful pendent inflorescence of very

                distinctive shape. Bracts red to bright red with upwards pointing tips. Rachis curved, light yellow

                to cream.

                Vegetation musoid, leaves white on the undersides with maroon stems.

                This plant grows 8' to 12' ( 2.40m to 3.60m ) high and does not like exposure to strong sunlight.

                Best planted in a place with filtered sunlight and shade of 30% to 50%.
