Strongylodon macrobotrys - Jadevine - Leguminosae
The climbing species Strongylodon macrobotrys was discovered as late as 1937 in the
Philippines. Its flower color is one of the most special in the plant kingdom and the hanging
inflorescence can reach a length of 1m. Also interesting - the flowers are pollinated by bats.
Plants are available in limited quantities only and must be shipped with soil or coconut material on the roots to keep them alive.
