Musa siamensis
Rhizomes of this yellow blooming species are available in limited quantities.
June 2004
We do have a new Heliconia species - Heliconia carmelae - available.
Supply is very limited and we can only sell one rhizome per customer.
Please note that:
every possible care is being taken to make sure that you will receive fresh
bulbs and rhizomes of high quality. It still can happen that delivery of a package is being delayed for reasons beyond our control. From our experience however we can say that most
Heliconia and ginger rhizomes can survive a prolonged period of shipping without damage if the packing is done well.
The usual time for shipping to the USA and Europe is somewhere between 4 and 10 days
from the day of shipping to delivery. This time span does not do any harm to the plants.
The package usually arrives at the country of destination after 2 to 4 days only, but then the package may be kept at the customs or plant inspection station for a few days until it is forwarded to the recipient.
We are shipping the plants that you have ordered and do not send substitutes unless there has been an agreement.
Unfortunately in Thailand it is common practice to sell wrong rhizomes at flower and
plant markets in order to make a quick profit - regardless of the consequences !
This habit has done a lot of damage to the reputation of businesses in the plant sector and is being practiced until today.
Our advice: If you are looking for plants at a flower market in Thailand do not buy unless you are sure you are getting the right species.
