Please be informed:

New import regulations implemented by the European Union

The following plants have now to be tested in a laboratory for nematodes  - Radopholus similis prior to shipping:

Calathea spp.

Musa spp.

Colocaisa esculenta

All Aquatic plants including: Lotus, Thalia etc.

The testing requires samples of the plants and takes about three days.

Small quantities of the listed plants cannot be tested and therefore cannot be shipped anymore because of these new EU regulations.

A minimum order quantity of 20 rhizomes per species or variety is necessary starting from October 2008.

Heliconia, and gingers are not ( yet )  included in the list und do not have to be tested.

These can be shipped as usual.

The variety named " Melissa " at his site is Pretty Princess and it is a variety that I am selling for quite some time..

Here his description of the plant :

"This is the most sought after plumeria in Thailand at this time. The blooms are said to be on average 6-9 inches wide. A huge bloom  and beautiful  colors make this  best of show ..Very limited supply. PLease check stock with me before ordering."

Please have a look at my own and true description of Pretty Princess at my Plumeria descriptions page.

May 1 - 2005

Musa siamensis

Rhizomes of this yellow blooming species are available in limited quantities.

June 2004

We do have a new Heliconia species  - Heliconia carmelae - available.

Supply is very limited and we can only sell one rhizome per customer.

Please note that:

every possible care is being taken to make sure that you will receive fresh

bulbs and rhizomes of high quality. It still can happen that delivery of a package is being delayed for reasons beyond our control. From our experience however we can say that most

Heliconia and ginger rhizomes can survive a prolonged period of shipping without damage if the packing is done well.

The usual time for shipping to the USA and Europe is somewhere between 4 and 10 days

from the day of shipping to delivery. This time span does not do any harm to the plants.

The package usually arrives at the country of destination after 2 to 4 days only, but then the package may be kept at the customs or plant inspection station for a few days until it is forwarded to the recipient.

We are shipping the plants that you have ordered and do not send substitutes unless there has been an agreement.

Unfortunately in Thailand it is common practice to sell wrong rhizomes at flower and

plant markets in order to make a quick profit  - regardless of the consequences !

This habit has done a lot of damage to the reputation of businesses in the plant sector and is being practiced until today.

Our advice: If you are looking for plants at a flower market in Thailand do not buy unless you are sure you are getting the right species.
