                Musa siamensis - Musaceae

This Musa species has only recently been introduced to the horticultural scene and it is still rare.

Originating from the south of Thailand it is related to Musa laterita.

The plant has also been named " Thai Gold " in the USA and has wrongly been described as a

                form of Musa ornata.

Musa siamensis has a beautiful upright yellow inflorescence - a rare color among the Musa

family. It grows 6' to 9' ( 1.80m to 2.70 m ) high in full sun to slight shade.

Still very rare and only a limited number of rhizomes is available.
