Hedychium Hybr. Gold Flame

The picture above is showing Gold Flame photographed in the province of Chiang Mai.

The plant is not growing very high - 2.5' to 4' ( 70 to 120 cm ) and flowers at 70 cm. This could indicate that it is not the Gold Flame

as circulating in the nursery trade, but a Dwarf form of H.coronarium. As a Hedychium cultivar registry does not exist,

identification remains a problem and it must be suspected that many cultivars have been named several times.

So our Gold Flame is what you see above, a smaller, fragrant  Hedychium with white and yellow flowers.
