Costus woodsonii - Red Button Ginger - Zingiberaceae

                Native to Central America this species is also called " Dwarf French Kiss" in the nursery trade.

                This is a very attractive smaller plant which will reach a height of 2 to 3 ' ( 60 to 100 cm )

                The bright red heads do create a very nice contrast to deep green, shiny foliage on

                spiral stems. Flowers which emerge from the cone are yellow to orange.

                Prefers some shade and grows well in containers. Rich flowering.
