Costus stenophyllus
An interesting foliage plant with stems reminiscent of bamboo for the brown colored
alternating bands. Conical red inflorescence produces pale yellow flowers and is often called
'snake head' by people in Thailand.
Plant grows 4' to 6' high ( 1.20m to 1.80m ) preferably in filtered sunlight.
Minimum USDA hardiness zone 10.
