Costus barbatus ( Red Velvet Ginger)

 

            Growing 4' to 8 ' high( 1.60m to 2.40m ) in suitable climate and best in medium sun while tolerating full sun.

            Deep red inflorescences (6" to 10" long) comprised of a series of hard bracts carry yellow flowers on

            slender stems with spiral habit. Lasting very long when left on plant.

            Blooming season from April to November.

            Hardiness: USDA zone 9 to 11.
