
Cornukaempferia aurantifolia " Jungle Gold " - Zingiberaceae
This shade loving plant grows to about 14" high and 20 " wide ( 35 cm - 50 cm ).
Rounded, dark green to brownish green leaves with velvety surface display spots and bands of
silver. The undersides of the leaves are bronze-purple. Mainly being cultivated for its very attractive foliage, this plant also produces golden-orange flowers.
Goes dormant at the end of the raining season in the tropics or towards autumn in cooler climates and
will start sprouting again by middle of May. Bulbs can be kept over winter in a cool and dry place.
Bulbs or tubers are available from December to April.
