Calathea lutea ( Sikha) - Marantaceae
This is a larger Calathea growing 6' to 8' high ( 1.8m to 2.4m ) or more in light shade to half
shade. The brownish long cones are producing small yellow flowers and appear below the
leaves. The leaves themselves are broad and attractive, being gracefully held on long stems
which gives this plant a very tropical looking appearance.
A beautiful larger plant adding distinctive flavor to any exotic garden design.
Being rather hardy it grows well also in places with subtropical climate.
