Gingers being used as spices and medicinal plants


                Alpinia galanga - spice ginger - Zingiberaceae

                A popular spice in Asia and much used in Thai dishes, this ginger is

                an easy to grow plant which will reach 5 to 6 feet ( 1.5 to 1.8m ) and does best in

                slightly shady conditions.

                Multiple small white flowers appear regularly even in cooler climates.

                Light green attractive foliage.

                Alpinia galanga also has qualities as a a medicinal plant.

                USDA zone: 8 and higher.
